# III. Powergaming

Powergaming refers to the act of forcing actions upon other players without giving them a chance to respond or react, which can disrupt the flow of roleplay. Here are some key rules to help maintain a balanced and enjoyable environment:

#### **I. Core Principles**

1. **Respect Other Players' Agency:**
   * Always allow other players the opportunity to respond to your actions. Forcing outcomes on others is not acceptable.
2. **Realistic Character Actions:**
   * Your character should act within the bounds of realism. Avoid actions that are overly exaggerated or impossible within the game mechanics.
3. **Value Character Life:**
   * Characters should value their lives and the lives of others. For example, if a gun is pointed at your character, they should realistically comply with the threat.
4. **No Godmodding:**
   * Do not create invulnerable characters or situations where your character cannot be harmed or affected by others. Everyone should have a fair chance in interactions.

#### **II. Specific Examples of Powergaming**

1. **Forcing Actions:**
   * For example, saying "I punch you in the face, and you fall unconscious" without allowing the other player to react is powergaming.
2. **Ignoring Consequences:**
   * If your character engages in risky behavior, they should face realistic consequences. For instance, if they steal a car, they should be aware of the potential for police pursuit.
3. **Unrealistic Skills:**
   * Characters should not possess skills or abilities that are beyond the realm of possibility for their background or experience. For example, a character with no combat training should not be able to defeat a trained fighter effortlessly.
4. **Manipulating Game Mechanics:**
   * Avoid exploiting game mechanics to gain an unfair advantage. This includes using glitches or bugs to achieve unrealistic outcomes.

#### **III. Enforcement**

1. **Warnings:**
   * First-time offenders may receive a warning from moderators or admins.
2. **Temporary Bans:**
   * Repeated violations or severe instances of powergaming may result in temporary bans.
3. **Permanent Bans:**
   * Persistent offenders who continue to disrupt the roleplay experience may face permanent bans.

#### **IV. Reporting Powergaming**

* If you witness powergaming, report it to the appropriate staff member or administrator. Provide clear evidence and context to support your report.

#### **V. Promoting Fair Play**

* Encourage a collaborative storytelling environment. Engage with other players in a way that enhances the roleplay experience for everyone involved. Remember, the goal is to create believable and engaging scenarios, not to dominate the narrative.

By adhering to these rules, we can foster a more immersive and enjoyable roleplaying experience for all players. If you have any further questions or need more details, feel free to ask! 😊

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://new-legion-rp-la.gitbook.io/newlegionrp/general-rp/iii.-powergaming.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
