# VII. NVL (No Value of Life)

**No Value of Life (NVL)** refers to situations where players act recklessly or without regard for their character's life, undermining the seriousness of roleplay. Here are some key rules to maintain a balanced and engaging environment:

#### **I. Core Principles**

1. **Value Your Character's Life:**
   * Always treat your character's life as valuable. Characters should act in ways that reflect a realistic desire to survive and avoid unnecessary risks.
2. **Realistic Reactions:**
   * Characters should respond realistically to threats and dangerous situations. For example, if a gun is drawn, characters should react appropriately, such as complying or fleeing.
3. **Avoid Reckless Behavior:**
   * Engaging in actions that would likely lead to death or serious injury without a valid in-character reason is considered NVL. This includes jumping into dangerous situations without thought.
4. **Respect Consequences:**
   * Understand that actions have consequences. If your character engages in illegal or dangerous activities, they should face realistic repercussions, such as arrest or injury.

#### **II. Specific Examples of NVL**

1. **Ignoring Threats:**
   * If a character is threatened with a weapon, they should not act as if nothing is happening. For instance, saying "I don't care" or continuing to act aggressively is NVL.
2. **Suicidal Actions:**
   * Engaging in actions that would lead to certain death without a valid reason (e.g., jumping off a building for no reason) is considered NVL.
3. **Disregarding Law Enforcement:**
   * Characters should not provoke law enforcement or engage in criminal activities without considering the potential consequences, such as being chased or arrested.
4. **Overly Aggressive Behavior:**
   * Characters should not engage in fights or confrontations without a realistic motive. For example, starting a fight in a crowded area without justification is NVL.

#### **III. Enforcement**

1. **Warnings:**
   * First-time offenders may receive a warning from moderators or admins regarding their behavior.
2. **Temporary Bans:**
   * Repeated violations or severe instances of NVL may result in temporary bans from the server.
3. **Permanent Bans:**
   * Persistent offenders who continue to disrupt the roleplay experience may face permanent bans.

#### **IV. Reporting NVL**

* If you witness NVL, report it to the appropriate staff member or administrator. Provide clear evidence and context to support your report.

#### **V. Promoting Fair Play**

* Encourage a collaborative storytelling environment. Engage with other players in a way that enhances the roleplay experience for everyone involved. Remember, the goal is to create believable and engaging scenarios, not to dominate the narrative.

By adhering to these rules, we can foster a more immersive and enjoyable roleplaying experience for all players. If you have any further questions or need more details, feel free to ask! 😊

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://new-legion-rp-la.gitbook.io/newlegionrp/general-rp/vii.-nvl-no-value-of-life.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `build a script that syncs our docs to a CMS` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
