# XIX. Businesses

Businesses in [New Legion RP: LA🌴](https://cfx.re/join/dlqeaq) provide services to the community, ranging from food and entertainment to vehicle repair. Operating a business requires staying active, and adherence to the following rules:

**I. Business Operations:**

**A. Permitted Activities:**

* **Pricing:** Businesses set their own prices for services.
* **Hiring:** Businesses determine their own hiring practices, provided they comply with all other server rules.
* **Security:** Businesses may hire gangs for security, but this does not grant the gang ownership or operational control of the business.
* **Competition:** Aggressive competition among businesses is permitted within the bounds of the law.
* **Community Engagement:** Businesses may utilize Discord servers and other community platforms.
* **Gang Affiliation (Limited):** Gangs may own one legal business front collectively; this does not include security contracts.

**B. Acquisition of Businesses:**

Businesses are acquired through one of two methods:

1. **Business License:**
   * Minimum 4 days of playtime.
   * Detailed business plan, including resources (map mods, etc.).
   * Approval from city officials.
   * Non-refundable deposit upon approval.
2. **Auction:** Businesses are auctioned when reclaimed by the city due to inactivity or illegal activity. Auction participants must meet the following requirements:
   * Clean ban record.
   * No current business ownership.
   * Ability to make payment.
   * Not affiliated with a gang already owning a business.

**II. Staff Non-Involvement:**

Staff will not mediate disputes between:

* Businesses
* Gangs and businesses
* Businesses and police

Staff will not provide incentives based on business size or success.
